DESCRIPTION:The Makkarakoski sawmill in Noormarkku was in operation for over 200 years. The current Makkarakoski sawmill was built to replace the sawmill that had been destroyed by fire in 1875. The sawmill’s saw frames came to a halt at the end of the working day in February 1956\, and its original machinery and equipment\, most of which dated from the 1880s\, were left in place. The sawmill museum thus offers a unique insight into the early stages of Finnish industrial history.\n\nGathering at the Ahlström Voyage exhibition\nThe exhibition space is not wheelchair accessible. A guided tour lasts approximately 50 minutes.\nAdmission: €22 / €20 / Museum Card.
